How much does Shift At Midnight cost? $9.99 on Steam. (Some sites quote a lower promotional figure — as of this writing the Steam API shows no active discount.)

Is there a demo? Yes — a free demo is available on Steam, and the game supports Family Sharing.

What platforms is it on? Windows only on Steam (Windows 10/11 64-bit). Community members report it on Xbox via Game Pass, but official platform details beyond Windows aren't confirmed — check the store listing for current availability.

What languages are supported? English, French, German, Spanish, Japanese, Russian, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese and Brazilian Portuguese — all with full voice-over.

What are the system requirements?

Multiplayer

How many players? The store page says "up to 3 players," but that text is outdated — a July 23, 2026 patch added 6-player lobbies. Confusion in the community ("can you not play with 6?") comes from the stale store copy.

Can I finish everything solo? Yes. Every ending and every achievement is achievable solo. Co-op is easier (one player on register, one on chores), but nothing is gated behind teammates.

Is there crossplay? Partial: Xbox consoles and PC Game Pass play together (Play Anywhere); Steam is a separate pool for now, with full crossplay promised in a future update. Full details: Crossplay Guide.

Gameplay Questions

How long is the game? The story is 13 shifts; a first run spans several evenings. The True Ending then unlocks Endless Mode (infinite shifts, currently BETA, with a free major update planned for Q4 2026).

How many endings are there? Exactly three: True Ending, Grave Decision, and Empty Home. Rumors of a "secret ending" are unconfirmed — likely a mislabeling of Empty Home. Full requirements: All Endings.

I accidentally killed Clyde. Can I still finish? You can finish the run, but all three ending achievements are voided — there's no one to call. Start a new run and keep the sheriff alive.

I bought the shotgun and can't find it? Purchased weapons spawn at set station locations, not in your hands. Check the counter and storage areas.

What's the deal with the angry customers / smelly trash icon? That's your cleanliness rating — trash and stains accumulate and anger customers. Clean continuously; it's both rating and income ($0.10 per chore).

Is there an arachnophobia mode? Yes — the Entity's design can be toned down in settings.
